Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what Odor Removal Experts collects when you use odorremovalexperts.net and how we handle it. We never sell your personal information.
What we collect
When you contact us, request a quote, book a visit, or start a payment, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, property type, ZIP code, and a description of the odor problem. We use that information to respond to your request, prepare your quote, schedule service, and process payment.
Analytics and session recording
We use PostHog, a product-analytics service, to understand how visitors use the site. PostHog processes this data on our behalf and stores it on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). It automatically records events such as pages viewed, buttons and links clicked, and forms started or submitted. It also captures your IP address and an approximate location derived from it. We also use Google Analytics and Matomo to measure traffic.
This includes session recording (also called session replay), which reconstructs a playback of your visit, including mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and navigation between pages. We use it to find and fix usability problems. Text you type into form fields is masked where possible so that sensitive input is not captured, but you should avoid entering information you would not want recorded. Analytics runs on the main site and on our booking pages, and is loaded through Google Tag Manager.
Log files and IP address
Like most websites, our hosting platform and our analytics record standard technical data, including your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and understand general usage. Your IP address is stored rather than anonymized, and may be used to estimate your general location, such as city or region. We retain this data only as long as needed for those purposes.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage to remember preferences, measure performance, and link your activity across our pages and subdomains, such as the booking site, so that analytics are not counted twice. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as well. Deleting cookies does not opt you out permanently; a new one may be set on your next visit.
Advertising and remarketing
We advertise on Google. Our site loads the Google Ads tag, which sets advertising cookies so that Google can show our ads to people who have visited this site, for example on other websites, on YouTube, or when they search again, and so we can see which ads lead to enquiries. Google receives the pages you visit here, your IP address and a cookie identifier, and handles them under its own privacy policy. We do not give Google your name, phone number or email address for this.
Under some US state privacy laws, using cookies for targeted advertising in this way can count as sharing personal information. You can opt out at any time. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the advertising tag does not load at all. You can also turn off personalized ads from Google at adssettings.google.com.
Videos
Some pages show short videos hosted on YouTube, a Google service. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play on a video: until then we show only a still image of it, so simply visiting a page with videos on it sends nothing to Google about you. If you do press play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, Google's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set advertising cookies for that playback. Google will still receive your IP address and information about the video you watched, and will handle it under their own privacy policy.
Payments
Customers pay by credit or debit card over the phone. Card details given on that call are used to take the payment and are not collected through this website. If we ever send you an online payment link instead, the card details you enter there are collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor, on their own secure systems, and we never see or store your full card number.
Booking and scheduling
When you book a visit, our scheduling tool collects the details needed to set the appointment, such as your name, email, phone number, chosen time, and any notes about the odor. We use this only to arrange and confirm your appointment.
Email and marketing
We use an email service to send you quotes, booking confirmations, and payment receipts. If you choose to opt in, we may also add you to our marketing list for occasional updates or offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time. We manage these contacts in our own marketing system and do not sell your details.
Third-party services
To run the site we rely on service providers for hosting, analytics and session recording, bot protection, form and email delivery, scheduling, marketing email, and payment processing. These providers process data only to perform their function for us and are not permitted to sell it. Some of these we run ourselves on our own servers, and some, including our analytics and payment processing, are operated by third parties on our behalf.
Your choices
You can browse without submitting a form, block cookies in your browser, and unsubscribe from marketing at any time. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have shared, including analytics and session-recording data tied to you, through our contact page at https://odorremovalexperts.net/contact, and we will respond within a reasonable time. Our advertising tag respects the Global Privacy Control signal and does not load when your browser sends it. The site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
